Best ConservaTweets @NGProgBlog

Or are they ConservaTwits?  This is a collection of the funniest, stupidest, most infuriating, most ignorant, and most ridiculous tweets from right wingers @NGProgBlog during my run as a progressive tweeter.  Some are conversations, some are one-offs, but they should all be worth a laugh, or at least a head scratch.  The names of the ignorant have been removed for their protection.

On the problems of religion and with taking the bible literally.
@ A higher powr above the laws of nature=easily proven. Not necesarily God, but a higher power, whether u call it Big Bang or God.
@(withheld) Easily proven? Well humanity has pondered that one for millennia, but I'm sure you've you it all figured out.
@ Lots of scientists admit this. Even evolutionists. It's the only logical and mathematically sound answer, too.
@(withheld) Hahaha religion plus logic, what a fantastic idea. Immaculate conception? water to wine? a week in a whale? Yeah, lots of logic.
@ Ugh. The original translation did not mean "whale." No whale alive today would fit that story.
@withheld) Oh, so thats the one and only thing that you >don't< take literally? Please, i think we've said all we have to say.
@ No, I do take the "whale" story literally, but it wasn't a whale. It was some whale-LIKE species that has long since died off.
@(withheld) oh man, this is too good. long since died off? as in within the past 6000 years?
@ Yes. Heard of extinction? U can't be open-minded if you automatically dismiss things as impossible w/o considering otherwise.
@(withheld) You can't talk extinction, evolution, and the religious dogma of 6000 years in the same sentence and still be taken seriously.
@ Not by close-minded people, you can't, I agree.
@(withheld) There's a difference between an open mind and disregarding every bit of science and fact I've learned in my life for some story
@ Why would an open-minded person assume they have nothing more to learn, or that they learned correctly, w/o seeking some more?
@(withheld) Did I say I was done learning? No, only that I prefer to believe FACT over FICTION. And with that, I'm done.
Fact over fiction, in both spirituality and politics.
